Simon During (University of Queensland, Australia) will give a talk on his book Against Democracy : Literary Experience in the Era of Emancipations (Fordham UP, 2012) at the American University of Paris, 6 rue Colonel Combes, 75007 at 6:30pm on January 17, in room 102.

The talk will be hosted by the Center for Critical Democracy at AUP and “Frontières du littéraire” (LARCA-UMR 8225).

Simon During is invited Professor at Université Paris 13 from January 9 to January 20, 2017. He has published a number of books among which

  • Exit Capitalism : Literary Culture, Theory and Post-Secular Modernity (Routledge, 2009)
  • Modern Enchantments : The Cultural Power of Secular Magic (Harvard UP, 2002)
